Heart and distal trachea, hull and primary bronchi - Erler Zimmer 3D anatomy Series - MP1710

This model is part of the exclusive Monash 3D anatomy series, a comprehensive series of human dissections reproduced with ultra-high resolution color 3D printing.

This 3D printed anatomy model of the heart preserves the external anatomy of the heart and distal trachea, carina, and primary bronchi in the posterior mediastinum with respect to the great vessels and left atrium (showing transverse and oblique pericardial sinus reflexes).

An anterior window was dissected in the right atrium and at the base of the auricle, exposing the right atrioventricular (tricuspid) valve and the passage into the right ventricle.

Both the right and left coronary arteries and named branches (with the posterior interventricular artery arising from the right coronary artery) are visible.

The left auricle was dissected to demonstrate the course of the circumflex artery in the coronary groove.

The cardiac veins were removed, but the coronary sinus was considered inferior to the left atrium.

The pulmonary trunk was removed to expose the pulmonary semilunar (open) valves, while the arch of the aorta is intact to show the origins of the brachiocephalic trunk, left common carotid artery, and left subclavian artery.

Adjacent to the aorta, the termination of the left and right brachiocephalic veins and the azygos vein in the superior vena cava are preserved.
