Upper limb dissection - Biceps, bones and ligaments - MP1515

This model is part of the exclusive Monash 3D anatomy series, a comprehensive series of human dissections reproduced with ultra-high resolution color 3D printing.

This 3D printed upper limb dissection model shows the origin and insertion of the biceps (most other muscles in the arms and shoulders have been removed).

The long head of the biceps originates from the supraglenoid tubercle (hidden from view) and travels inferiorly in the bicipital groove, while the short head of the biceps originates from the coracoid process.

Clearly distinguishable are the bifid insertion of the muscle as the bicipital aponeurosis and the rounded tendon that can be seen wrapping around the radius to insert into the radial tuberosity.
