Infants commonly require lumbar injection as a diagnostic procedure used to take a cerebrospinal fluid sample, measure cerebrospinal fluid pressure, or for intrathecal drug administration.

Gaumard S411 lumbar injection training simulator.

This injection simulator was developed to train physicians and nursing staff to perform lumbar or spinal injections on an adult patient.

The S411 lumbar puncture simulator provides an extremely realistic tactile sensation, combined with an innovative pressure and fluid supply system.
The system allows cerebrospinal fluid collection and measurement of opening pressure.

A true training system for medical training, the lumbar injection simulator is ideal for training medical students in the practice of local anesthesia injection, an aseptic technique, to practice needle insertion between the vertebrae.

Features of the lumbar puncture simulator at a glance:

  • The block with spinal cord, the insert with skin layer, subcutaneous connective tissue layer, and lumbar vertebrae is replaceable.
  • Anatomical features include iliac crests, lumbar vertebrae L2-L5, yellow ligament, epidural space, and dura
  • Ability to insert the needle between the vertebrae
  • Realistic needle resistance
  • Skin layer with self-healing system, allowing 15 uses with an 18-gauge needle, and 25 uses with a 22-gauge needle, after which replacement of the puncture block is required.
  • Innovative pressure system, which allows pressure to be increased and decreased by simply pressing a button
  • LED display to show set point pressure
  • Ability to inject in left lateral decubitus, or sitting position

Why purchase a medical simulator?

Medical schools, training and residency institutions for young physicians use simulators to train young physicians in the practices they will later face in their professional lives.

It is also possible to give an entire class the opportunity to practice without the risk of causing risk to a human patient.

Erler Zimmer medical simulators are all made in Germany from high-quality plastic materials, come with a 3-year warranty, and also have excellent after-sales support.
